Getting to Don Pedro-Knight-Palm Island
Getting there is half the fun! Your "bridge" to Don Pedro-Palm Island is via a 70 ft. Island Car Ferry which runs non-stop, seven days a week. The journey across is a pleasant five minute excursion, where you will leave the crowds and traffic behind, and first experience the flavor of the island. Enjoy the scenery, the water birds, or perhaps a playful dolphin. Or you may even choose to arrive in your own boat! Once on the Island you will find that the "locals" tend to park their cars and travel by way of golf carts, bicycles or on foot - a much more enjoyable way to take part in the ambiance of the Island.
When Arriving from the North, take interstate 75 to Exit 191 (Englewood exit) onto River Road. Continue on River Road approximately 12 miles. Directly after passing a Florida Power and Light plant, turn left on Pine Street at traffic light. Continue 1-1/2 miles to the second traffic light, which is the intersection of CR-775 & 776. Continue straight at the light, at which point you will be on CR-775. At this intersection is Merchant's Crossing where you will find Publix Supermarket, a drug store and liquor store. Continue south on CR-775 for 5 miles. You will turn right onto Panama Boulevard. Continue down to the ferry dock and the Waiting Line. Once in line, a Ranger in a golf cart will accept payment for your roundtrip ride. You will then be directed by the Ferry Mate (on the ferry) to drive your car onto the barge. Turn your motor off, follow the directions posted in the front of the ferry and enjoy your ride across! Prior to your vacation, practice reverse driving! We BACK OFF the ferry, here!
When Arriving from the South, take Interstate 75 to Exit 170. Make a left on to Kings Highway, then a right onto Veterans Parkway at next stop light. Go approximately 10 miles until you cross Hwy 41 where Veterans Parkway becomes State Road 776. Continue on 776 to State Road 771. Turn left, 771 will turn into 775 after 7.5 miles. Continue on 775 for approximately 4 miles to Panama Boulevard. From that point, follow the directions as noted above. On 775 there is a Publix Supermarket, gas station and liquor store, 1-1/2 miles south of ferry landing.
Directions to our office on the island
When you drive off the ferry on the island side, continue down the road approximately 800 feet and take the first left. You will drive over a bridge. Continue straight, making no turns, approximately 400 feet and you will go over a second bridge. At this point, you are on the beach road. Continue down to the end of the road, approximately 3/4 mile. On your left you will see two duplex buildings - 1 green and the next, blue. The office is in the last blue unit, #40, and we have a sign out front that reads Islander Properties, with the American Flag flying. We look forward to seeing you on the island!

When making your reservation, you will need to coordinate arrival and departure times due to the ferry schedule.
Ferry Schedule & Hours
The ferry runs daily approximately every ten minutes - or as people arrive - during it's operational hours. It is approximately a five minute run.
